Spark of Hope #112 – Throwing the Baby Out with the Bath Water!

Spark of Hope #112 – Throwing the baby out with the bath water” is an expression that implies an entire idea, concept, practice or project doesn’t need to be rejected or discontinued if part of it is good. While the “baby” represents the good part that should be preserved, the “bath water” gets dirty and needs to be discarded. In this fast-paced, me-centered, hurry-up and do-it-now world, it’s all too easy to get discouaged. The New Year is perfect timing to reconsider our dreams, goals and priorities. What really matters? Where is my time best spent? What’s my impact on the world … the legacy of my fingerprints? To me, that’s why it’s important to throw out the bath water. People and organizations can’t grow effectively if they’re not cleansing the mind-body-spirit (the nuts and bolts) of who they are, on a regular basis. What’s worth preserving and what needs to be discarded for you to grow? Don’t get lost in a sea of doubt; the sun will rise again, with new possibilities, every day. I’ve taken some quiet time this past month, to contemplate our past and pray about the future. New ideas are swirling in my head and I’m holding fast to the reason we began in the first place — because hope matters!
Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!
