Spark of Hope #116: Hold On For the Wild Ride

Spark of Hope #116 – Caregiving is a wild ride! In the space of a week, I’ve seen a care plan ripped away when the receiving facility suddenly “changed their mind” and a loved one wrongly discharged from a hospital with a broken back. Even with advocating, researching, planning, and organizing, the outcome may appear devastating at times, despite our best efforts. Logic and faith are shaken to the core. I got my spark back among a group of “change thinkers” just now … you know, the kind of people who’ll go the extra mile to make good stuff happen. Little did I know, a Gecko was along for the ride too. At 50 miles per hour, he clung to the top of my car for the trip home. He had to be holding on for dear life! What a wild ride! What are you holding onto lately? Are you trying to ride it out alone? Whatever it is that shakes you, Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday with HOPE and other caring riders along. Cling to faith, hope, and love … then, hold on for life’s wild ride!

Hold On for Dear Life!

P.S. Today is Earth Day around the world. Its focus is on protecting and safeguarding the natural environment — air, water and land. Our featured image flowers are called “Ilima.” Can you guess where they’re growing by the sea? [Photo credit: Legario Eharis]

Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!

  1. I really enjoyed this article. I’m happy you said what kind of flower it is because up close it almost looks like a rose. And wow, I didn’t know you have Geckos. Until now, I thought we had salamanders in San Diego county but now I think they are Geckos. I know I’m missing the point the article so I must say, I love this: Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday

  2. ‘Spark of Hope’ What a rightly chosen name! I am glad to read the whole stuff, especially, ‘change thinkers’, just the right name for the bunch of people I’ve had on my mind. By the way what are Geckos? That flower, I’m seeing for the first time.

    1. Elsy, the word Gecko is highlighted to indicate there’s a link to learn about these creatures. Just click on the word and go explore! The “Ilima” flower grows on the island of Maui in Hawaii. 😉
