Spark of Hope #127: Adopting 41-Years-Worth of Miracle

Spark of Hope #127
– The conversation always started the same.  “I wish I knew.  I hope he had a good life. I will never stop praying,” she’d say.  For years we have exchanged stories of trials and triumphs, and hope secured in loving one another through it all. This tender-hearted sister-friend of mine is, in fact, herself a miracle.  She flat-lined, more than once, and returned with a begging question of why … what purpose could there be in enduring her ongoing struggles? One by one, miracles of purpose unfolded. Grandchildren arrived to forge a healing path between mother and daughter. Laser surgery opened her eyes to a whole new world, after years of being nearly blind (without glasses).  Her chronic illness suddenly and wholly cured. Her spiritual void filled with unmistakable overflow for God’s love inside her. And then, the ultimate miracle, after decades of waiting.  She now knows.  He had had a good life … actually, a great life.  Her prayers were being answered all along.  The child she was unable to care for as a young single mother, is standing before her very eyes, as 41-years-worth of miracle.  This spark of hope clearly whispers, “Where there is great love there are always miracles”  (per author Willa Cather).

P.S. Welcome back to the family sweet nephew of mine!

Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!
