Spark of Hope #85 – Serving in Love

Spark of Hope #85 – We risk missing out on our dreams if we become too fixated on our expectations. “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps.” I love that verse from Proverbs because it encourages us to take initiative, yet never go it alone. I believe that we’re meant to share our plans with others, to engage their strengths and ideas. To see our dreams come to pass we must create an action plan, and then be willing to prayerfully carry it out. For years, I wanted to open a health-centered cafe. I finally let go of that dream when I began researching all the intricacies.  It’s now May 2013 and Serving in Love has led me to a “Neighborhood Memory Cafe.” It’s a place where individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and their care-partners can gather — where being forgetful or behaving differently isn’t unusual. In fact, it’s embraced. At this cafe, people loving each other through it are encouraged in mind, body, and spirit, and celebrated for doing so. On June 21st, in conjunction with The Longest Day, Synergy Organic Juice Bar and Cafe will transform their name. Then, on the last Friday of every month, a community of sponsors will join hands from       2-4pm, marveling as a little dream emerges. Not the way I envisioned, but the way it was meant to be. My heart planned the way; God determined the steps. New memories will be born as we begin serving together in love — demonstrating that Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday with HOPE!

Plan to Serve with Love — Join us on The Longest Day

Hope is like a spark; if the conditions are right, it can spread like wildfire. Hope feeds the soul, ignites passion, and inspires others. Tucked inside each of us is a child-like spark that says: never forget to dream, play and imagine. HOPE is the extraordinary spark that says Huge Outcomes are Possible Everyday!
